Belkyra
Injectable Treatment for Fullness Beneath the Chin
Belkyra contains deoxycholic acid and is used in appropriate adults to reduce submental fat beneath the chin. It works by disrupting fat cells in the treated area, after which the body gradually clears cellular debris.
Belkyra treats localized fat, not loose skin or every cause of neck fullness. Assessment is important because anatomy, skin quality, salivary glands, muscle structure and other factors can affect the appearance of the area.

Who May Be a Candidate
Belkyra may be considered for adults with a suitable amount and distribution of submental fat who understand that a series of treatments may be required. Patients with significant skin laxity or another cause of neck fullness may need a different approach.

Treatment and Recovery
After the area is assessed and marked, a series of injections is placed in a planned pattern. Swelling is expected and can be noticeable, particularly after early sessions. Bruising, tenderness, numbness, firmness and temporary lumps may also occur.
